Most online business works on one system: Drive traffic and convert that traffic into subscribers. This will help your blog to grow over time.
There are many articles how to boost the traffic to your blog. In this article, I will share
with you the most successful of them which helped me to rapidly increase the traffic to
my site Automate The Planet.
We’ve all been there. We’ve hit publish on our latest blog post and expected the comments and shares to start rolling in. But instead we get nothing. It seems that no one has even seen our beautiful article, let alone read it. A piece of tumbleweed seems to blow across the screen and it feels so lonely out there on the World Wide Web…
Have you ever looked at your blog’s analytics and wondered when the hordes of visitors are going to start showing up?
You’re publishing great content and have something to say, but try as you might, those traffic numbers just don’t seem to be climbing as much as they should be.
The truth is, it doesn’t have to be that way – you can get way more traffic to your blog and in this post I’ll show you how. With the use of just a few of these tactics, you could see a 425% increase in traffic (yep! It’s happened).
Before we dive into discussing specific ways to increase your traffic, there’s something I need
More traffic won’t always get you what you want.
Your goal should always be to generate relevant and targeted traffic – which is exactly what all of the tactics and strategies included in this guide will help you with.
A big part of this is knowing what you want people to do once they arrive on your blog, it’s one thing to want more traffic, but there has to be a reason for it.
Once you have a clear idea of exactly what you want people to do on your blog, you can optimize your blog to improve the likelihood that it will happen –small tweaks can make a big difference with conversions.
There are a lot of tactics listed below and when used in the right way they can have a huge impact on your traffic.
For example, I’ve seen people put only a few of these tactics into action and see a 400%+ increase in traffic. Awesome right?! The key here is to focus on a single tactic, make it work and then come back to this post to try something else. If you try too many at the same time, you won’t see the traffic increases that you deserve.
There are many ways to get free traffic and paid traffic. Most business websites that I know of use the PPC or advertising model to get traffic to their blog.
There is nothing wrong with this approach, but you need to have proper funnel setup, else you would be burning your money.
So — what’s the best way of getting and keeping your readers without resorting to paid advertising?
–10 Ways to get free traffic to your blog–
1.) Join a Facebook group
There are plenty of groups based on all sort of interests. Just paste your keyword in Facebook search to discover those. After joining, read
the rules and stick to them. Usually, there are certain days/threads where self-promotion is okay, plus you can always add extra value in the comment section by sharing a link to your post along with the answer.

5.) Blog Commenting
Blog commenting is another great free tool for our kit. Commenting not only helps with branding and traffic, but it also helps by generating backlinks. It
also requires little time, and with a proper strategy, you can use it toward improved personal connections and networking. You can search in you keyword “Blog they accept commenting”…
6.) Increase Visitors From Search Engines
Most of my visitors come from Google Searches. However, in order your site to be TOP Ranked you should follow SEO best practices.
Big sites have big teams of SEO experts because of the complexity of the matter.
If you’re using WordPress, you don’t need to read 5000 pages for SEO optimization, you can just install a plugin, created to help you with the task. I’m using one of the most popular SEO Plugins out there- Yoast WordPress SEO . The plugin displays tips (under your post editor) how to improve the SEO of your page. Also, gives you an easy way to set search related data to your page.
After I installed the plugin and fixed all of my
articles, the traffic to my site from Google Searches increased with more than 1000%.
7.) Join LinkedIn Groups
In my opinion, little-known feature of LinkedIn is Groups. If you’re part of a group you will be able to see all shared posts and also publish your own stories. This can be very valuable because many HR Specialists and Talent Hunters are following these groups and will see your great articles. You can search for LinkedIn Groups here.

8.) Twitter Followers
You can easily share your post in Twitter via the previously mentioned plugin– Publicise.A great way to increase the count of your Twitter followers is to follow more specialists in your field of expertise. Usually, at least 20% of the people you follow will follow you back.
For example, if you are writing about Quality Assurance, you can follow fellow testers. Here
you can find a large list of test experts to follow- http://blog.smartbear.com/quality/29-testers-to-follow-on-twitter/
Also, when you share your posts in Twitter always include hash tags. People use the hash tag symbol # before a relevant keywordbor phrase (no spaces) in their Tweet to categorize those Tweets and help them show more easily in Twitter Search. This means that more people will see your tweet/article.
9.) CodeProject Technical Blog Feeds
This is one of the most productive thing that
boosted the traffic to my site was the Technical Blog Feed in CodeProject.
In short, you submit the RSS feed of your site and their service will publish all of your
marked articles in CodeProject .
Three days after this feature was set up, the visits to my site were increased by more than 100%. Also, your articles once published there, most
probably will get thousands of views for a couple of days. Here you can find detailed information how to set up a technical blog feed for your site.
